Sharing Connections provides brand-new beds and cribs to children and infants whose families have secured housing but lack the financial means to furnish a safe, healthy home. Families transitioning out of homelessness, domestic violence, displacement, or financial hardship often move into housing with little more than the keys to an empty apartment. Without the resources to purchase essential furnishings, many children sleep on floors, couches or shared surfaces during this critical period of transition.

Teen Parent Connection is a nonprofit agency serving teen parents in DuPage County, Illinois as they navigate the challenges of both parenthood and adolescence. In addition, they offer school-based pregnancy prevention education programs in both middle schools and high schools to help reduce the risk of teen pregnancy. Each year, the Glen Ellyn Infant Welfare (GEIW) awards a community grant to support programs and initiatives that directly benefit children within Glen Ellyn School Districts 41, 89, and 87. The grant application period opens each February, with grant recipients selected and awards announced in May. Organizations seeking funding should demonstrate how their proposed project or program will have a direct, positive impact on children served by these school districts.
